It has been used not only in surf music but also in punk rock, and was favored by numerous guitarists including The Ventures, The Ramones, Takeishi Takeshi, and Kayama Yuzo.

We have now acquired a 1965 manufactured vintage Mosrite in an elusive solid red sparkle color that cannot be found anywhere on the current used market. The weight is 3.95kg.

The neck pocket bears the stamp "1965 DEC 17," confirming this as an authentic piece made by Semie Moseley. The finish on the underside of the neck is also red sparkle, indicating that this is the original color and not a refinish. The fingerboard end bears the stamp "3085," and remarkably, the body top features what appears to be a signature of Takeishi Takeshi.

It features the top jack specification that began in 1964. The headstock displays a small "Ventures Model" logo. The pickup covers bear the "mosrite of california" logo that began in 1965, and the knobs feature an "M" marking. The tremolo is marked "Moseley."
With its slim neck, narrow metal nut, and 0 fret—all familiar specifications—this is an instrument that truly captures the essence of Mosrite. The pickups are high-output, delivering a distinctive, powerful sound.

Among "Sparkle" colors from around 1965, most typically feature a fade from a gold or orange-toned center to a dark red sparkle on the edges. A solid red sparkle color from the golden era is extremely rare. There is a theory that "some Sparkle color examples were shipped without burst treatment," making this a particularly valuable piece.

Do not miss this unprecedented opportunity and stroke of fortune.

【Accessories】Hard case only (The handle has come off, making transport inconvenient—a characteristic of vintage condition. Storage and opening cause no issues.)

【Appearance & Condition】Typical of vintage instruments, there are scratches, dull spots and impact marks on parts, wear on the top, light scratches, and other signs of use. The dot inlays on the fingerboard at the 19th and 21st frets are missing. There is an impact mark on the body edge that has been retouched with what appears to be red paint. All parts and wiring are believed to be original, though some may have been replaced.

【Truss Rod】Adequate clearance

【Frets】Approximately 40% remaining (Believed to be original, left as-is)

【Neck】Straight

【Nut Width】Approximately 40mm

・If the instrument exhibits significant buzzing, dead spots, or other issues that impair playability, we will always note this. Absence of such notation indicates that we judge the playing condition to be without problems.
・Unless specifically noted as "Original" or "Replacement," we make no definitive claims regarding specifications or condition.
・Regarding the truss rod, from a product protection standpoint, we only check approximately 45 degrees in both the tightening and loosening directions.
