fender-japan-st57-50-1990-i000816-1
Fender Japan ST57-50 1990 #I000816

Fender Japan ST57-50 1990 #I000816

We have received the popular ST-57 model by Fender Japan, which follows the stratocaster design of the 1950s. The weight is 3.3kg. The neck pocket bears the markings "ST-57" and "90" with an "STD" stamp, and there is a "50" sticker on the back of the headstock, so we have determined this to be an ST57-50 manufactured in 1990.

Based on the I-series serial number and "MADE IN JAPAN" marking, it was manufactured between 1989 and 1990, which is consistent with the neck. Fender Japan products from this period were assembled and manufactured by Fujigen, maintaining stable quality and excellent cost-performance while realizing modern playability that can adapt to various styles.

The guitar features an alder or basswood body with a maple neck and 21-fret maple fingerboard. The pickups have no markings on the back, so replacement history is unknown, but the wiring has been corrected. Additionally, the 5-way selector and pots have been replaced, and the bridge has been changed to a block-type saddle similar to American Standard models. The controls are simple, with two tone controls for front and center pickups only, with no effect on the rear. The 1-ply pickguard is also characteristic of the '57 specification.

The neck grip has a well-balanced thickness—not too thick, not too thin. The feel is different from recent American Standard and American Professional models. Current playing condition is excellent, making it perfect for players who want to play actively rather than as a collector's item. As a stratocaster from a period entering Japan Vintage status, we think this is a great instrument you can use casually.

This is a model where Japanese craftsmen have carefully and accurately inherited the essence of vintage Fender while recreating it in various details. We have performed full maintenance at our shop, so please take this opportunity.

【Accessories】Fender tweed hard case (with various signs of wear and dirt), arm

【Appearance & Condition】There is wear including dull parts, scratches, numerous dents on the body, dents on the neck side, and paint discoloration on the 17F fingerboard dot inlay.
